  • Before he was a blockbuster actor, Will Smith was The Fresh Prince and, along with partner Jazzy Jeff, won the first-ever Grammy for Best Rap Performance.  They boycotted the awards because the category was barred from television.  This is your black history fact for the day.

 

  • Attention seniors, any senior that has not paid senior dues should take care of paying your dues of $60 to your English teacher or Mrs. Oncale in room 120. Any senior not paying senior dues by the deadline on April 5th will not be eligible to attend Prom or receive graduation tickets in May.

 

  • The Future Teachers of America will hold its monthly meeting this Wednesday February, 20th in room 120 starting at 6:50 am.

 

  • Congratulations goes out to BETA club members, Grant Gautreaux and Julian Flores!  Each placed at the La. State Beta Convention and now move on to the National Competition in Oklahoma during the summer.

 

  • Good luck to our Lady Tiger Basketball Team as they travel to Ouachita Parish High School for their second round play-off game! Game time is 5:30 and admission is $7.”

 

  • Today is opening day for tiger Baseball and dollar hot dog night ...come out and support the Tigers at 6:30...student admission is $3.

 

  • On Saturday, the Thibodaux High Indoor Percussion Ensemble competed at the ED White show at the Civic Center. The THS Percussion won 1st place in their class and had the highest score of any group throughout the entire day. Congratulations to all!

 

  • Cheer/Mascot tryouts will be held Saturday, March 16th.  Paperwork is due March 12th.  See the THS webpage for more information.

  • The hair brush, lawn mower, cellphone, refrigerator, and – thanks heavens – the air conditioner were all the fruits of African-American inventor’s creative laboring.

 

  • The ACT run through and coding session will be this Friday after announcements. If you have a calculator you are planning to use for the ACT, please have it with you on Friday to be checked. If you are planning to use your own pencil, it must have #2 lead. You must also present a valid ID when entering the classroom. Your ID must not be defaced in anyway.

Bayou Boutique will be open from 12pm to 5:00pm (only early dismissal seniors from 12:00-2:15). 

 

  • This Wednesday February 20th is another Papa John pizza night.  Papa John will donate 20% OF ALL ORDERS to Thibodaux High. If placing an order online, use the code THIBHS.  If calling in an order, just mention Thibodaux High  
  • Thibodaux High is having a shrimp boil fundraiser on March 6th.  We are asking all staff and students to help with this fundraiser by selling shrimp dinner plates.  Order forms for the pickup and delivery have been emailed to all staff members.  Students can get a copy of the order forms from their teachers or from the main office.  Anyone who sells 10 dinner plates will get a free jean day every Friday until the end of the school year.  Anyone who wear jeans every Friday for selling the fall dinner plates will get to wear jeans on Thursdays and Fridays!  Top student seller will get a $50 gift card and Top selling Staff will get a $25.00 gift card.  Top 10 student sellers will also be awarded a donut party. ​ The deadline for tickets is Friday, March 1st at noon.

  • Baseball legend Jackie Robinson had an older brother, Matthew Robinson, who was also a star athlete in his own right.  He won a silver medal in the 200-yard dash in the 1936 Olympics – coming in second to Jesse Owens.  This is your black history fact for the day.

The Tiger Battalion placed 2nd Place in the unarmed color guard commanded by Parish Michaelson. They also took 2nd place in the unarmed regulation and inspection commanded by Keion Yasin.

  • Thibodaux High Theatre Arts will bring to life several stories from Edgar Allan Poe during their production of NIGHTFALL this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door. There is NO STUDENT PERFORMANCE for this production.

 

  • The THS Golf Team played the 2nd Golf match of the season yesterday...6 teams participated...Your Tigers came out 1st place in the match and all 5 players in the top 10 once again...congrats to this week’s tigers Parker Chiasson, Brodie Hendrix, Ethan Trosclair, Tanner solar & Reese Benoit

  • Tomorrow, Lafourche Parish Schools will be celebrating their second annual jean day to support the Lafourche Education Foundation.  For the price of $1, students can wear jeans tomorrow and $5 for employees.  LEF is a non-profit organization that supports the Lafourche Parish School system.  Please help support this worthy cause.  Students and faculty who already qualify for jeans on Friday are exempt from contribution.
