  • October is Bullying Prevention Month:  Students with specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional and behavior disorder, other health impairments, and speech language impairments report greater rates of victimization than their peers without disabilities.  Let’s respect each other’s difference and be more tolerant.

 

  • Attention sophomore girls:  Fletcher and BP have rescheduled their annual “Females Fueling Our Workforce” event on Thursday, November 8 at BP. If you are interested in hearing from successful women in the STEM pathway, you may pick up a permission slip in guidance. Permission slips are due by Monday, October 22. If you have already turned in a permission for the previously cancelled event, you must submit another one to attend the new event. Please see Mrs. Maghsoud in guidance for more information.

 

  • Workkeys testing will be October 22nd, 24th and 25th for all Jumpstart Juniors and certain seniors.  Make Ups will be given October 30th.

 

  • Congratulations to Caroline Loupe on making the All State Honor Band.  Caroline will be performing with the ensemble during the Thanksgiving break.
  • Congratulations to the following choir students for being selected to participate in the Louisiana Music Educators Association's All-State Mixed Choir next month in Baton Rouge during the Fall Music Conference:  Seth Bergeron, Dylan Chamberlain Hailey Poche.
  • October 25th is senior night for the volleyball team.  This is our pink out game.  Any student who wears pink will be allowed in the games for free!
  • The Tigerettes are having a jambalaya dinner on October 21st.  Tickets are available with any dance team member or Ms. Torres in room 417.
  • Boo-Grams will be on sale in the morning Oct 10-26 in front of the main office.  They are 2 for $1.  You must know the person's full name and homeroom.

  • October is Bullying Prevention Month:  25% of African-American students, 22% of Caucasian students, 17% of Hispanic students and 9% of Asian students report being bullied at school.  Let us practice empathy and kindness toward one another and put an end to bullying.

 

  • Seniors:  Please tell your parents that the counselors will host a senior parent information night this Thursday from 6-7 in the auditorium.  Information on TOPS, FAFSA and graduation requirements will be reviewed.

  • The Lafourche Parish School Board has declared a sprit and jean day on Friday, October 19.  For the cost of $1.00 (students) and $5.00 (employees) can wear jeans and a spirit shirt to school.  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Lafourche Education Foundation. Jeans and spirit shirt or school white or purple shirts only will be allowed.  Nothing else is acceptable.  If you choose not to participant, standard uniforms is the dress code.  Spirit shirts with khaki bottoms are allowed.

 

  • Students:  There is a large number of student coming to the main office during class time.  Students are allowed to use the telephone and pick up items from the main office between classes only.
